Riyadh: The number of people applying for a license has increased as driving schools in Saudi Arabia, which have been closed for months due to Kovid, reopen. Before Kovid, the number of applicants was low due to the need to attend 10 days of theory and practical classes. When it was resumed after Kovid it was reduced to five days which was a blessing to the applicants. You can only get a date for the class if you wait months and apply in advance. However, the date will now be available within 20 days. The license should be applied by affixing the photo on the completed application form and conducting blood group determination and visual inspection along with the result.
Classes are currently conducted by classifying new applicants into three categories. Large trucks, small vehicles, public transport (taxi). Classes are arranged in three seasons. The five-day class is scheduled to begin on Sunday and end on Thursday. Classes and driving lessons on traffic rules are available these days. Those who complete the training will get the date for the final tests a week later. Those who pass the Learners' Test and the driving test first on this day will get the license on the same day. Licenses valid for five to 10 years can be applied for.
There are two driving schools in Riyadh, mainly for men. The possibility of more restrictions on applying for licenses is likely to increase congestion in the coming months.
