10,892 lorries parked in public places were taken into custody

Jeddah - The Jeddah Municipality last year detained 10,892 lorries for illegally parking in public places and residential areas, causing traffic congestion and inconvenience to locals. Jeddah Municipality Undersecretary Engineer Mohammed Al-Muttairi said the lorries were taken into custody for violations of the law, such as parking in public places and on roads inside populated areas, dumping sewage in unmarked areas and dumping waste.

Penalties, including fines, were imposed on the owners. Engineer Mohammed Al-Muttairi praised the city's cooperation with the Jeddah Municipality in reporting municipal law violations on 940 or through a smartphone app launched by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs.
