Riyadh: Saudi Tourism Minister Dr. Ahmed Al Khatib has announced that the issuance of tourist visas will resume from the beginning of next year.
The Minister of Tourism has informed the leading news agency Reuters that the tourist visa will be resumed. The minister said the visa process would be expedited if there was any progress regarding the corona vaccine.
Since September 2019, the Saudi Tourism Visa Policy has been revised to allow on-arrival visas and e - visas for 49 countries.
The revision of the tourism visa policy is part of the plans of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to find other sources of income instead of relying solely on oil.
By 2030, the tourism sector is projected to account for 10 per cent of the country's GDP
