Jeddah: Two days of inspections by businesses in Jeddah's business establishments have uncovered 150 violations related to non-implementation of protocol to prevent the spread of corona. During the two days, municipal teams inspected 386 businesses in 19 branches of the Jeddah Municipality.
The Madinah Municipality has also announced that it has intensified inspections in Madinah. Madinah Mayor Engineer Fahad Al-Bulaihishi said the inspections were intensified in the wake of the increase in corona cases in the country. A week-long inspection by the Najran municipality found 53 violations. 28 institutions were closed for serious violations. During the week, the Najran Municipality inspected 1,779 businesses. Inspections by the dammam Municipality on Sunday found 17 violations. On Sunday, dammam municipal officials inspected 847 businesses.
The Home Ministry has warned that companies and officials responsible for violating precautionary and preventive measures will be fined 10,000 riyals the first time and 20,000 riyals the second time. If the third offense is committed, the case against the officer responsible for the more severe penalties will be handed over to the public prosecution with a double fine. The Home Ministry has said that private companies that repeat the violation will be closed for three months and those that repeat the violation will be closed for six months.
