33 deaths in electrical accidents in three years

33 people have been killed and 64 injured in power outages in the country over the past three years, according to the Electricity and Co-Generation Regulatory Authority. There were 87 power outages in three years. The southern sector accounted for 42.4 per cent of electrical accident deaths. Thirty-six percent of injuries are in the middle sector. About 81.8 percent of those killed in accidents are contract company workers. 
In the southern sector, 14 people were killed and 11 injured in 19 power outages. There have been 26 accidents in the western sector in three years. Twelve people were killed and 14 were injured in the crashes. Of the 26 accidents in the central sector, five were fatal and 23 were injured. There were 16 accidents in the eastern sector. Of these, two were killed and 16 were injured.
The highest number of accidents occurred in the distribution sector. Of the 42 accidents in the region, 18 were fatal and 41 were injured. There were 27 accidents in the transmission area. Of these, ten were killed and nine were injured. The remaining hazards are in the manufacturing, engineering-planning and public service sectors.
