Jeddah: New Rules Issued By The Interior Ministry To Prevent The Spread Of Coronavirus Have Banned Gatherings And Crowds Of More Than Five People. Officials Attached To The Ministry Of Interior Said That The Fines Will Be Imposed On Top Of The Law.


A New Police Unit Has Been Set Up To Enforce New Measures To Curb The Spread Of Coronavirus And Social Isolation, The Ministry Said. The New Rules And Penalties Will Be As Follows.


Multiple Households In Homes, Leisure Centers And Farms Can Be Fined Up To 10000 Sr .If They Do Not Live In One House.


Non-family Gatherings Within One Or More Locales, Residences, Farms, Camps, And Open Spaces Can Be Fined 15,000 Sr.


Marriages, Condolences, Parties, Seminars And Other Occasions Are Considered Violations Of The Law.


Collaborations Of Workers In Houses, Buildings Or Farms Under Construction Other Than Residential Areas Shall Also Be Considered A Violation Of The Law. 50,000 And Will Be Fined.


It Is Also Considered A Violation Of The Law To Have Employees Or Customers Gathering Inside Or Outside The Shop. If More Than A Specified Number Of People Get Together, Each Will Be Fined 5,000 Riyals. A Maximum Of One Lakh Sr Can Be Fined Up To Rs.


If The Offense Is Repeated, The Institution Will Be Shut Down For 3 Months And The Fine Amount Doubled. If The Mistake Is Made Again, The Penalty Will Be Doubled, The Institution Will Be Paid For Six Months And The Case Will Be Filed Against The Concerned Person For Public Prosecution.



The Ministry Said In A Statement That The New Rules Were Aimed At Curbing Social Interactions And Non-compliance That Are The Direct Cause Of The Spread Of The Virus. Authorities Are Urged To Notify Eligible Authorities Of Toll-free Numbers (999) In All Parts Of The Country And 911 In Makkah Province.
