Officials at the Riyadh Vaccine Center said those receiving the first dose of the Kovid vaccine would be given a second dose from the first week of July. This was reported by the Al Iqbariya channel.

The second dose is given to people of all ages. The Ministry of Health had earlier said that 83 per cent of people over the age of 60 had taken the second dose. Those who received the first dose made up 43 percent of the total.

The second dose vaccination was extended on the recommendation of the World Health Organization and the Saudi Ministry of Health, with the goal of making the first dose available to all. Experts also said that delaying vaccination would increase efficacy.

Confirmation from the Ministry of Health is yet to come. Ahmed al-Ghamdi said in response to a report from Al-Iqbariyah that he was looking forward to hearing from the Ministry of Health and that he was looking forward to receiving the second dose as soon as possible. It has been welcomed by many on Twitter.
