The Saudi Traffic Directorate announce fine for auto insurance

Riyadh - The Saudi Traffic Directorate says motorists will be fined between 100 to 150 riyal for not having a long-term insurance policy. Fines for uninsured motorists are automatically investigated for whether they have a term insurance policy in the name of the vehicle when they are charged with traffic violations.

The Saudi Traffic Directorate has announced that it will resume imposing fines on Dulhaj 1 (July 22) for vehicles without a term insurance policy. The imposition of penalties for vehicles without a term insurance policy will be resumed from next week on account of the exceptional circumstances which have caused some services to be stopped for registration of the vehicle and the situation is back to normal. The Saudi Traffic Directorate has also announced that the registration of vehicles at the National Information Center under the Ministry of Home Affairs has been completed.
