Riyadh: The Directorate of Traffic has clarified that strict conditions apply to the application of cooling film on vehicles. Cooling films used on glass should be transparent. Cooling films that obscure the interior view are prohibited from being pasted on the windows. No mirror-shaped cooling films that reflect the image.
Cooling films that reduce transparency should not have decorative work or images. According to the relevant departments, the use of cooling films that are not harmful to humans and the environment and are approved for use in Saudi Arabia.
Cooling films should be transparent enough to see the occupants of the vehicle. Cooling film is only allowed on the side windows of cars. No cooling film is allowed on the front and rear windows of cars. Cooling film can be applied to the side windows of the front seats of the car only under certain conditions, subject to certain conditions.
It is forbidden to stick cooling film on the windows of taxis. The same cooling film should not be pasted on the windows of single door sports cars, which have only driver and passenger seats. Cooling film can be applied only on the back seats of single door sports cars and if they have separate windows. The Traffic Directorate has stated that it is prohibited to stick cooling film on goods vehicles and buses plying within cities.
