Javasath says Saudi Boarders will not be opened

Riyadh: The Javasat Directorate has denied reports that border posts with neighboring countries will open from the 9th of this month. Javasat said that if a decision is taken regarding the opening of the contract posts, it will be officially announced. The Javasat Directorate said this in response to an inquiry by one of the Saudi nationals into the veracity of reports circulating that the border posts would be opened from August 9. The border posts between Kuwait, the UAE, Jordan and Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and the King Fahad Causeway have recently been opened for the return journey of Saudi citizens to their homeland.

Saudi Customs has eased the precautionary measures applicable to lorry drivers entering Saudi Arabia through border posts. The new directive from customs posts at border crossings suggests that drivers of lorries carrying goods from Gulf countries to Saudi Arabia only need to be assessed for corona symptoms. Saudi Customs said it was easing the precautionary measures applicable to lorry drivers at contract posts based on the recommendations of the Finance and Safety Committee.
