Riyadh - The Saudi Electricity Company has said it will impose a fine of up to half a million riyals on those who trespass on power plants and power lines to take advantage of the service illegally. Those who destroy property and power lines under the Saudi Electricity Company, disable it, cut cables and use the service illegally will be fined. The Ministry of Power has assigned the power to determine the penalties for those who encroach on property and power networks under the Saudi Electricity Company. The fines are levied through the Electricity and Co-Generation Regulatory Authority, the regulatory authority for electricity.
Encroachment on power lines, encroachment on switch station-high voltage networks and major substations, encroachment on branch substation, encroachment on 230 kV lines, encroachment on 110-132 kV lines, supply of medium voltage (11 kV) A fine of 50,000 riyals will be imposed for trespassing on secondary supply lines with a voltage of less than 11 kV and tampering with low voltage feeder plates.
Saudi Electricity has announced a fine of 3,000 riyals for tampering with electrical service equipment and meters, as well as tampering with communications and control equipment.
