Prohibits The Issuance Of Driving Licenses To Convicts In Drug Cases

Riyadh - The Traffic Directorate Has Clarified That The Law Prohibits The Issuance Of Driving Licenses To Convicts In Drug Cases. The Main Condition For Issuing A Driving License Is That The Courts Should Not Be Convicted In Cases Of Drug Use, Distribution And Possession. The Directorate Of Traffic Said That The Conditions For Issuing A Driving License Include Passing The Age Of 18, Exemption From Diseases And Disabilities That Prevent Obstruction Of Driving, Passing A Driving Test, Paying Fees, Paying Fines For Traffic Offenses And Having A Legal Iqama For Foreigners.

The Directorate Of Traffic Also Said That The Remaining Non-payment Of Fines For Traffic Violations Does Not Prevent Saudi Nationals From Traveling Abroad. This Was In Response To An Inquiry By One Of The Saudi Nationals On Whether Those Charged With Traffic Offenses Were Allowed To Travel Abroad Without Paying Fines.
