Official figures show that the number of Saudi employees in the private sector in Saudi Arabia increased by 2.9 percent last year, despite the severe crisis caused by the corona epidemic.
At the end of last year, the private sector had about 17.5 lakh domestic employees. As of December 2019, there were about 17 million Saudi employees in the private sector. In one year, the number of Saudi employees in the private sector increased by about 49,000.
Although the corona expansion has led to job losses around the world, Gosi estimates that more Saudis got jobs last year.
Last year saw the biggest growth in the number of Saudi women employees. The number of female employees increased by 7.6 per cent. Last year, another 42,400 Saudi women found work in the private sector. At the same time, only about 6,500 Indigenous men found new jobs in the private sector last year.
