Under the new amendment, women will get 14 weeks paid maternity leave. Currently it is 10 weeks. It would be a criminal offense to charge a brokerage for hiring under the proposed amendment. The fine will be between SR2 lakh and SR5 lakh.
Another important suggestion in the new amendment is that the re-entry fee should no longer be paid by the employer instead of the employer.
It is understood that from March onwards, the re - entry fee will be borne by the worker himself, prior to the enactment of the law allowing workers to leave Saudi Arabia without the consent of their employer.
At the same time, the new amendment stipulates that the employer must pay the worker's recruitment fee, iqama, work permit, other related fees, and return ticket after the contract expires.
