Taif: The health department is taking action against Farsi for selling unlicensed drugs. Taif was jointly inspected by the health department and the security department at a pharmacy selling unlicensed drugs by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority. The company employed an unlicensed pharmacist from the Ministry of Health. He did not have a certificate from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
Siraj al-Humaidan, a spokesman for the Taif Health Ministry, said an investigation by the Taif Health Ministry had found that the Saudi Food and Drug Authority was selling unlicensed drugs at a city pharmacy. The investigation found that he worked as a foreign pharmacist without a certificate from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties and that he administered injections to patients in an environment where medical and health conditions were not perfect.
The case against the pharmacy was handed over to a special committee investigating the violations on the part of private health care providers. The Taif Health Department will continue lightning inspections at health facilities. Checks will also be made based on complaints received from users. The Taif Health Department will not tolerate any breach affecting the health security of locals and foreigners. Health institutions that violate the law will be prosecuted as per the law. The Taif Health Department conducted 2,196 inspections at private health institutions last year. Siraj al-Humaidan said the Taif Health Department received 1,352 complaints from users last year against health facilities.
