Riyadh - Ali Al-Shahri, head of the Saudi airline's Boeing aviation division, said that three lakh Saudis were repatriated during the Corona era. Saudi Arabia has operated more than 1,500 services to repatriate Saudi nationals. As many as 300,000 Saudi nationals have been repatriated from around the world in full compliance with precautionary measures.
The most important of the Corona-era repatriation services was the Los Angeles service, an 18-hour journey. The journey from Jeddah to Los Angeles in the United States and back took 36 hours to repatriate Saudi nationals. The number of pilots and assistant pilots in the service has been increased from four to eight and the number of cabin crew from 17 to 35. It was necessary to increase the number of flight attendants to operate the service within the allotted time.
The flight took off from Jeddah Airport at 6 a.m. and landed in Los Angeles for more than 17 consecutive hours. The plane waited at the Los Angeles airport for two hours until the passengers could board. Captain Ali al-Shahri said the plane was returning to Saudi Arabia after boarding.
