The Javasat Directorate has said that it is mandatory to have a valid Haviyyat Muqeem (Iqama) for change of sponsorship. Javasat was responding to a query as to whether the sponsorship of a foreign worker who arrived in Saudi Arabia on a new visa could be changed using a passport only before receiving iqama.
Javasat has launched Digital Iqamah service on Abshir Individuals, the online service platform of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Security departments can verify the identity of people through digital iqama verification if they do not have an original identity card.
