The private sector has more than 85 lakh registered employees in Gosi

 

At the end of last year, there were 85 lakh private sector employees registered with the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI). 20.3 lakh nationals and 64.8 lakh foreigners. There are 12.7 lakh employees in the country under the Civil Service Act. Of these, 12.3 lakh are Saudis and 22,700 are foreigners. In addition to these are foreigners who are contract employees working in the Ministry of Health and others. Saudi Arabia's unemployment rate fell to 12.6 percent in the fourth quarter of last year. The unemployment rate in the third quarter was 14.9 percent. The unemployment rate in the country was 8.5 per cent in the third quarter. It fell to 7.4 percent in the fourth quarter.


Male unemployment fell from 4.4 per cent to 4 per cent and female unemployment fell from 24.6 per cent to 20.2 per cent. The unemployment rate among Saudi men fell to 7.1 percent in the fourth quarter. It was 7.9 percent in the third quarter. According to Gosi sources, the unemployment rate among indigenous women fell to 24.4 per cent in the fourth quarter from 30.2 per cent in the previous quarter.
