THE DATE PALM HAS BEEN LISTED ON UNESCO'S CULTURAL HERITAGE LIST.

The palm has been listed on UNESCO's Unseen Cultural Heritage List. The Arab world rejoices in the achievement of the palm which is the mark of their culture.

The 14th Annual Meeting of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee held in Ba gotta, Colombia, formally announced its decision to include the list of palm trees. With the support of 14 Arab countries - UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Tunisia and Yemen The action reflects the cultural unity of the Arab community and inspires them to preserve it for future generations. Al Saddu, a traditional weaving technique of falconry, al-taghruda in folk poetry, al-ayalah in UAE traditional dance, al-Rasfa where dance and poetry combine.
