IN SAUDI, THE PRIVATE TAXI SECTOR IS ALSO BEGINNING TO BE INDIGENIZATION..

In Saudi, the private taxi sector is also beginning to be homegrown. The first phase will be implemented from the beginning of next month. In the first phase, taxi services for public and celebratory events are mandatory. By the year 2000, there will be complete indigenization in the region.

The Public Transport Authority and the Ministry of Labor and Social Development reached an agreement on the implementation of the project. The time allotted for private taxi companies to implement indigenization will expire later this month. From January onwards, the taxi service for public and festivals in the country will be restricted to the natives.

Step by step, the project aims to increase Indigenous homeostasis in the region and implement total indigenization. By the end of the year 2000, complete indigenization in the private taxi sector will be implemented. Work permits for foreigners working in the region will not be renewed by December next year, according to the Ministry of Labor. The Ministry has also sent a circular to the Chamber of Commerce in the country.

The ministry has also proposed to give taxi services through smart apps to give more expertise to the locals.
