NEW CARS IN SAUDI ARABIA DO NOT REQUIRE A THREE-YEAR INSPECTION

The Saudi Traffic Directorate Has Stated That New Cars Do Not Have To Undergo A Three-year Annual Technical Inspection (Motor Vehicle Periodic Inspection). The Traffic Law Mandates That All Vehicles Be Inspected Annually. This Does Not Apply To New Private Vehicles. Such Vehicles Must Be Inspected Three Years After Obtaining A Saudi License.

The Traffic Directorate Has Given Owners Three Months To Rectify The Status Of Vehicles Plying In The Country With Number Plates Of Foreign Countries.
Six Months After Entering Saudi Arabia, The Status Of Vehicles With Foreign Number Plates Should Be Corrected Directly By Contacting The Traffic Directorates In Major Cities. The Traffic Directorate Has Warned That Punitive Action Will Be Taken Against The Owners Of Such Vehicles Who Do Not Rectify Their Status Within Three Months.
