 Jeddah - The Saudi Ports Authority has announced plans to implement Saudization of companies operating in the country's ports. The project will be implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of Manpower and Social Development and the Saudi Ports Authority. Initially, Saudi Arabia aims to implement the four major companies operating in the Jeddah Islamic port.

Saudization is being carried out at Red Sea Gateway Terminal Company, Dubai Ports World Company, Samil Offshore Services Company and Mansoor Almusaad Trading and Contracting Company. It aims to Saudization 23 sectors of employment in these companies. The repatriation plan aims to Saudization more than 300 jobs in the four companies during the contract period. Later, Saudization will be gradually increased.

As part of the plan, the relevant government agencies will bear a fixed share of the salaries of the new recruits in the companies and a fixed share of the cost of training the Saudis. The project will also help train Saudis in key supply chain jobs in the country's ports to ensure business continuity. The Saudi Ports Authority wants to intensify Saudization in ports and companies operating in ports. 

The Ministry of Manpower and Social Development and the Ministry of Transport had earlier signed a memorandum of understanding to provide 45,000 jobs to the natives in the transport and logistics sector. As part of this, Saudization is being implemented in collaboration with the Saudi Ports Authority and the Ministry of Manpower and Social Development in companies operating in ports.
