The iqama fee is to be paid by the employer, not the worker

 

The Ministry of Manpower and Social Development said that under the new labor reforms, it is the responsibility of the employer to give the fees for iqama and work permit. Fees are not the responsibility of the worker. The new employer will have to give the iqama and work permit fees if the foreign worker changes jobs after availing the benefits under the new reforms. The Ministry of Manpower and Social Development said that the employer should also bear the penalty for delay in renewing the iqama and work permit.
