FIVE YEARS IMPRISONMENT FOR RIPPING OFF CURRENCY IN SAUDI

The public prosecution said those who change the markings on Saudi currency and coins could face up to three to five years in prison and a fine of 3,000 riyals to 10,000 riyals. The public prosecution warned that the punishment would be for intentionally maliciously changing the markings on currency notes and coins, tearing them up, washing them with chemicals, reducing their weight and size, and partial destruction.
