Police arrest foreigner for extorting money

Makkah provincial police have arrested seven Bangladeshi men who demanded ransom for their captives, Mecca provincial police spokesman Major Mohammed Al Ghamdi said.

The arrested persons were aged between 50 and 60 years. Following a financial dispute, the gang kidnapped, tied up and shot a local man and demanded money from his brother to release the Bengali.

A Mecca provincial police spokesman said the case against the accused had been handed over to the public prosecution after completing all legal procedures.
