The Hajj was held under heavy security in the background of Kovid. Therefore, only more than 1000 people were allowed to perform Hajj this time. In the wake of this, many people tried to enter the holy places to perform Hajj without a permit. More than 2,000 people (2050) have been arrested by security forces for trying to infiltrate such shrines. They face imprisonment, fines, vehicle confiscation and deportation. Among those arrested were foreigners.
The Javasat Administrative Committee has ordered to find the vehicles used to smuggle the pilgrims to the holy places and take further action. The ban on entry to the holy places has been in force since July 19 for those without a permit. The ban will end today. From tomorrow, there will be no restrictions on entry to Makkah or other holy places.
The fine for each illegal pilgrim is 10,000 riyals. Foreign offenders will be fined and deported irrevocably once their imprisonment is completed
